Speech Therapy

Speech Therapy services are provided by a licensed Speech Therapist.  Speech Therapy assists clients in achieving their maximum level of communication skills following an illness or injury. Swallowing deficits are also addressed. Vital Stimulation uses neuromuscular electrical stimulation techniques in conjunction with traditional swallowing exercises to strengthen and reeducate the muscular system to improve the swallowing mechanism. This is a non-invasive technique that is used to assist our clients resume normal eating habits. For the client dealing with dementia, individualized cognitive programs can be developed to ensure appropriate activities are in place to provide an enhanced quality of life. The LSVT Loud program for voice disorders associated with Parkinson’s disease and other neurological disorders is used to help clients improve vocal loudness, speech intelligibility, and improve facial expressions and confidence. Speech Therapy works with Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy to help residents get “home stronger, home faster.”
